Frequently asked
QHow do we play on two phones?
Open Blurt on both phones and go to pairing. One phone shows a QR code; the other scans it. Once paired, you share a single dictionary that syncs between both devices. You can also play the whole game on just one phone — pairing is optional.
QWhy can't I see the phrases written about me?
That's on purpose. Anything your partner writes about you appears as ✱✱✱ so you can't memorize it before a round. You'll only ever see your own phrases and the ones that come up live while you're guessing.
QTilt isn't registering my scores or skips.
Tilt-to-play uses your phone's motion sensor. If it feels off:
- Hold the phone flat against your forehead, screen facing out.
- Tilt down firmly to score, and up to skip — small nudges may not trigger.
- Make sure nothing (a case flap, a stand) is blocking free movement.
- If it's still unreliable, restart the round or the app.
QHow do I add or edit phrases?
Open your dictionary and add phrases about your partner — you can only write phrases for them, never for yourself. You can edit or remove any phrase you added at any time.
QCan we change the timer or the winning score?
Yes. In settings you can adjust the timer length, the winning score (50 / 75 / 100), and how many phrases come up per turn.
QDoes Blurt work without internet?
Yes. On a single phone it works fully offline. Cloud sync (for sharing a dictionary across two paired phones) is the only part that needs a connection.
QHow do I restore a purchase?
Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. Reinstall the app and use the restore option, or the same purchase will be recognized when you sign in with the Apple ID you bought it with. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple.
QHow do I delete our dictionary or my data?
You can clear your dictionary in-app, unpair devices, and delete synced data at any time. See Account & Data Deletion for step-by-step instructions.
QWhat devices does Blurt support?
Blurt runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. A device with a motion sensor is needed for tilt-to-play (all supported iPhones have one).
