Privacy Policy

Effective August 18, 2026 · Last updated August 18, 2026

Blurt is a party game built around phrases only you and your partner would know. We designed it to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

// In short

We don't ask for your name, email, or contact list to play. We don't show ads. We don't sell your data. The phrases you write are private to your game and, if you turn on syncing, are stored only so your paired devices can share one dictionary.

01 Who we are

Blurt (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by z19r. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@z19r.com.

02 What we collect

Content you create

The phrases, inside jokes, and pet names you add are stored on your device. If you enable device pairing / sync, they are also stored in our cloud database (Google Firebase Cloud Firestore) so your paired devices can share one dictionary. Phrases are never shown publicly and are not used for any purpose other than running your game.

Pairing & identifiers

To pair two phones, the app generates a random device identifier and a shared couple/game identifier, and uses a QR code to link them. When syncing is on, we use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account — there is no email address, password, or profile attached to it.

Game settings

Your preferences (timer length, winning score, phrases per turn) are stored on your device so the game remembers how you like to play.

Purchases

If Blurt is a paid or in-app-purchase product, payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card or billing details.

Diagnostics

We may receive limited, aggregated technical data (such as crash reports and basic usage counts) from Firebase to keep the app stable. This data is not used to identify you.

03 What we do not collect

04 How we use what we collect

We do not use your content for advertising, profiling, or training any product, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

05 Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the app.

06 Keeping and deleting your data

Content stored only on your device is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Synced content stays in our cloud database until you delete it or unpair. You can delete your dictionary and your anonymous account at any time — see Account & Data Deletion for step-by-step instructions, or email us and we will remove it for you.

07 Children's privacy

Blurt is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because phrases are written by the players and kept private to their own game, no user content is shared publicly.

08 Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Because we tie synced data only to an anonymous identifier, the fastest way to exercise these rights is to delete your data in-app or contact us at support@z19r.com.

09 International transfer

Our service providers may process and store data on servers located in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app.
